Dr. Beverly Walker-Griffea

President

Mott Community College

Dr. Beverly Walker-Griffea is the seventh president of Mott Community College (MCC) where she has been since 2014. Dr. Walker-Griffea has served community college students in various capacities for more than 30 years and she has been a long-time advocate for collegiate student success. She has a passion for ensuring all students have access to quality, affordable, and effective learning experiences.

Dr. Walker-Griffea has led the College in establishing an inclusive and welcoming environment that promotes a commitment to employee and student success. There are many resources for students and employees that have come to fruition under the leadership of Dr. Walker-Griffea including: the establishment of the Lenore Croudy Family Life Center, opening of the MCC Culinary Arts Institute downtown Flint, establishing public/private partnerships for unique funding streams, and implementing unique collegewide Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion measures.

Among her many accolades and accomplishments, Dr. Walker-Griffea was recognized as the 2023 CEO of the Year by the American Association of Community Colleges. She has also been granted President Emeritus status for MCC as of July 1, 2024. This is the first time a President of MCC has been given this honor.

Dr. Walker-Griffea’s leadership extends beyond the MCC as she is on and has served on multiple boards in the community, across the state, and on the national level. Some of these boards and positions include: President for the American Association for Women in Community Colleges, a member of the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Board of Directors, Chair of the Flint & Genesee Group, chair of the Great Lakes Water Authority, and most recently appointed to the Bishop International Airport Authority to name just a few.


Kimberly Hogan

Chief Executive Officer

CT State Community College Middlesex

Kimberly Hogan was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer for CT State Community College Middlesex in June 2023, after serving in the interim CEO role since April 2022. She leads an institution with more than 4,000 students enrolled in associate degree, certificate, and workforce development programs offered at its main campus in Middletown, a satellite location in Meriden, manufacturing facilities at two technical high schools, online, and at many dual-enrollment, clinical, and internships sites.

CT State Middlesex, formerly Middlesex Community College, is among the 12 community colleges in Connecticut that merged on July 1, 2023, to become Connecticut State Community College, the largest community college in New England.

Middlesex offers more than 80 degrees and certificates and is home to the Center for New Media, as well as the only accredited Ophthalmic Design and Dispensing program in the state. The college provides a range of other specialized degree programs in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Health Information, Radiography, Veterinary Technology, and many more.

Dedicated to improving the resources available for student veterans, Middlesex has continually earned acclaim as a nationally recognized Military Friendly School. Additionally, Middlesex is an active participant in the NASA Connecticut Space Grant Consortium, further contributing to its commitment to excellence in education and research. The Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society chapter at Middlesex is a recipient of annual national and regional accolades for its innovative service projects and outstanding officers and advisors. Nominated by the Middlesex campus students, Kim received a national Phi Theta Kappa Paragon President award April 2024.

Serving as the co-chair of the annual Red Moon fundraising event planning team, Kim collaborates with the Middlesex Community College Foundation Board of Directors. Together, they strive to raise $50,000-plus each year to help fund multiple scholarships and additional financial support for students.

In 2021, Kim was elected as the board chairperson of the Middlesex United Way and was presented with the prestigious Community Service Award after her two-year term. She is also a member of Women’s United, a board member of the Workforce Alliance in New Haven, and a board member of Gilead Community Services, a service organization dedicated to helping those living with mental health needs in Middlesex County.

In her prior role as the Dean of Administration, Kim played a pivotal role in securing fiscal success for the college. She holds a Master of Science in Educational Leadership from Central Connecticut State University and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Glassboro State College (now Rowan University) in NJ.
