AAWCC held its National Leadership Conference in October 2018 to inspire and enrich the lives of women working and studying at community colleges. Across the two-day conference, attendees heard motivational remarks from keynote speakers Dr. DeRionne Pollard, president of AAWCC and president of Montgomery College; Dr. Sandra Kurtinitis, board chair of the American Association of Community Colleges and president of Community College of Baltimore County; and Angela Provart, president of Pauly Group, Inc.
The conference also featured 24 workshops designed to educate and motivate attendees. Specific attention was given to the AAWCC platform of assist, persist, and resist. Workhops addressed such issues as building pathways of success (assist), advancing equitable practices (persist), and deconstructing implicit biases and inequitable practices (resist).
Review the 2018 workshops and speakers to find out what makes an AAWCC conference such a rewarding experience for women leaders.
